 TRALEE RFC ARE GOING “TO THE RACES”!!!!!

Tralee RFC at present have 250 underage players, 2 Senior teams, a Ladies Senior team and a Ladies Tag Rugby team training and using club facilities this season.  In an effort to help fundraise and pay for this facility, Tralee RFC has decided to run a RACE NIGHT.  We are asking for your generous support in doing so and are offering a number of ways in which you can contribute.

Firstly one can sponsor a Race at a cost €250, this will also include a ¾ Page Ad. in the Racing Programme.

Secondly, there is a range of advertising options:

• A full page advertisement at a cost of €180.
• A half page advertisement at a cost of €90.
• A quarter page advertisement at a cost of €50.

And, Thirdly, ownership of a horse at a cost of €50, where you get to name the horse.

OR Half a horse at a cost of €25.

The night will be held on 29.03.’08 in the Brandon Hotel in conjunction with Tralee RFC Inaugural Munster International Festival of Rugby with between 700/1000 children and adults attending for the weekend.  We hope that this will be a very well supported night and feel this is a good opportunity to advertise your Company and also benefit your local Rugby Club.  A member of our committee will be in touch with you and we hope you will look favourably on our request.

DRESS DANCE

The club’s annual dress dance, more special this year as it is the club’s 125th birthday, will be held on December Saturday 1st.  Tickets from Grace at 087 2399940 or Aine 087 1218404

Fancy Dress Friday 27th July.

It had been hoped to have a mid-summer barbeque this year but, with the awful weather we have been subjected to. a wise decision was made to go indoors so, on Friday 27th July, Tralee Rugby Club is hosting a fun Fancy Dress night at O'Dowd Park. Kick-off is at 8:30pm till late with Live Band and D.J. Admission is only €10 and numbers will be limited.

The sale of tickets has been very good over the last few days and especially at last night's finals of the TAG Rugby Tournament with several of the teams opting to celebrate the success of the tournament in a fitting manner in the club. So a great night is expected with the event kicking-off with a Live Band followed by a DJ. Rumours abound about the outfits being worn so it will be worth it just to see what will be on show? Some tickets can still be purchased from any of the players who are organising it or from The Mall Tavern.

Past Players Reunion.

As part of our 125th Birthday celebrations the Club is organising a Players & Officials Reunion in the Grand Hotel, Denny Street, Tralee, on Friday, 13th April 2007. All past and present players and officials are gathering for a night of nostalgia; and there should be many memories to recall in those 125 years! A great night is in store for all concerned when past and present members will mingle for a night which promises to be another memorable occasion in the calendar of events set to mark the 125th year of Tralee Rugby Football Club. The night will kick-off at 7pm with a drinks reception. Tickets at €30 (Thirty Euro) each can be purchased direct from the Grand Hotel, Tralee, (066 7121499) or from secretary Grace O'Donnell (087 2399940)

A special rugby match has been arranged for O'Dowd Park on the same evening as the Players and Officials Reunion! The players of the pre-2000 era will take on the players of the post-2000 era in a unique celebratory game to mark the 125th Birthday of the Club. The match will kick-off at 5:30pm (approx.) on Friday 13th April 2007 and should finish at 7:00pm to enable all those attending the reunion afterwards to make it to the Grand Hotel on time. This match should be entertaining provided, of course, that our referees for the evening, Mike Keane and Anthony O'Connor, enter into the spirit of the occasion? So why not come along to O'Dowd Park at 5:30pm on Friday the 13th April next to help kick-start what promises to be a great evening!

President's Night

President Jack O'Driscoll would like to invite all members to join him and the members of the Committee for a pre-Christmas drink in the back bar of the Mall Tavern on Friday 15th December 2006 at 9pm. A response indicating whether or not you will be attending will be helpful in gauging numbers.

Fashion Show and Luncheon

A Fashion and Luncheon will be held on Saturday November 4th at Manor West Hotel, Tralee . A Drinks Reception at 12.30pm will be followed be a Lunch and Fashion Show hosted by Celia Holman Lee at 1.30pm. The day will conclude at O'Donnells Bar Mounthawk at 5.30pm. Variety Show

To launch our 125th year in existence, the club is holding an entertaining Variety Show in Siamsa Tire, Tralee on Sunday January 28th at 8pm. Tickets are €25 (students = €20) and can be purchaed by contacting Siamsa directly on 066-7123055 or Grace O'Donnell on 087-2399940. This is the second part of a huge day for the club as our first XV take on Cork Constitution in the first round of the Munster Junior Cup at 2.30pm in O'Dowd Park. It promises to be a great day and a most entertaining evening so we hope to see you all at both events to support the club and join in the birthday celebrations!
