Tralee Hosts West Munster Minis & Under 17 Blitz Day
Tuesday, 08 November 2011 19:13

Saturday 29th October 2011

With the weather posing problems for other clubs Tralee was the ideal venue to host this double header of fixtures on their great pitch facilities over the Bank Holiday weekend.  Teams from all over West Munster participated in the under 17’s 10 a side fixtures while squads from Iveragh, Killorglin, and Castleisland joined in the minis festival day.  The day was a fantastic opportunity for the club to show its facilities off to the visiting Munster Youth Selectors and to show off the high standard level of Rugby being played in West Munster and in particular by the host club.

Unfortunately the U19 fixture which was transferred to Corca Dhuibhne on the day could not go ahead nor could the U14 &U16 event for Abbeyfeale take place due to inclement weather and the resultant pitch unavailability.  These fixtures had to be postponed at the last minute much to the disappointment of the players who were ready to travel.
