V Charleville, Bandon & Mallow

Tralee RFC hosted its first, of a number, of major day festivals of mini rugby on Saturday 26th Feb in O’Dowd Park with three Cork clubs visiting for the day. Over 180 children from U8 to U12 descended on the club from the Cork clubs of Bandon, Charleville and Mallow and the invasion was met with the strength expected by any Kerry side on the field of play.

Over the last number of years Tralee has been adopted by the South Munster area for their mini meetings and as visitors foraying into the Rebel County we have acquitted ourselves well on the playing field. Normally the early part of our season now involves a lot of travel visiting the southern clubs and the latter part of the year involves getting return visits as these clubs like to include Tralee as a venue for their “Club Day Out” and go to one of the many attractions available after their games. The hospitality the club has always received is then reciprocated on the return visit and all parents, on both sides of the borders, must be thanked for the efforts they put in to host the players.
