Tralee rugby hosted Muskerry under 9 last Sat and
despite the weather in Cork and snow on the
county bounds the Cork
side arrived with a small but strong squad of nine players. As we have come to
expect from this South Munster side they were
well up for a challenge and our boys were not going to disappoint.
We played 2 games both teams were well matched the
cork squad showing good ball skills and Tralee using what they have learned on
the training pitch and proving very strong in the ruck and putting in some
fearsome tackles, this resulted in two exciting close fought games .In the
spirit of mini rugby both games were blown up as a draw but to be fair it was
one game each With the visitors taking the first and the home squad finishing
strongly to take the second in style.
Our lads are improving with each game and each game
throws up new areas which need work, tackling and rucking while needing more
work are showing great improvement and the work is paying off on the pitch
.Overall a successful day with strong sporting performances all round both
teams are looking forward to the return leg at the Muskerry festival which if
last year is anything to go by will be another good outing. Thanks to the
parents who helped out and provided the grub which our hungry visitors were
glad of. |
