Tralee Rugby Club

Saturday, 13th April 2013 was a very important day for Tralee Rugby Club when the Mackie Family honoured our club by having the late Tom Mackie's ashes scattered over the first pitch. Tom's son Craig performed the simple ceremony after a minute's silence was observed by the Tralee and Lampeter Youth's teams prior to the fixture to compete for the Tom Mackie Memorial Cup. In a very entertaining fixture, hard fought throughout, the Tralee team emerged the victors on a scoreline of 5 - 3. The Tom Mackie Memorial Cup was then presented to Tralee Captain Michael Maher and both clubs then exchanged ties before devouring the food so well prepared and presented by Ciaran O'Nuallain and his son Ferghal. Congratulations to all involved.

Any one who travelled to O'Dowd Park in Tralee last Saturday 6th April was treated to a wonderful exhibition game of rugby played by two fine teams. In fact it was the visitors who got off to a flier when they led by 12 points to nil after just 10 minutes of play leaving the home side a little shell shocked. However nippy scrum half Sean Doyle, who had a terrific match throughout, had other ideas and when we were awarded a penalty for foul play he took the fast penalty and wormed his way over the line to ignite a bit of passion back into the boys in blue. Mike Mullally added the conversion.

Eoin Scores for U18s Clubs in Ravenhill victory

	Congrats to Tralee's Eoin O'Carroll who scored a try in Munster U18s Club's victory against their Ulster counterparts in Ravenhill at the weekend.
